Additional Notes
I have tried going back to previous versions of the game drive. I have also did a scannow command. I have tried the -dx11 commands etc. nothing has worked.
Hello, Welcome to the Forums,
Glad to hear you tried running in dx11 mode, that would have been my first troubleshooting step.
As with any GPU related crash - updating to the latest drivers is worth a try. (Sounds like you tried reverting drivers if thatās what you mean by āgame driveā, or is that a previous version of the project on URC?)
Does this happen with all of your Cinematic Sequences?
If you create a new Cinematic Sequence in that project does it still crash?
If you create a new Cinematic Sequence in a new project does it crash?
What GPU are you using?
- Yes, my GPU is updated to the latest version (Still didnt work)
- Yes it does happpen with all my cinematic sequences; Some take a longer time to crash than others.
- I have not tried creating a new cinematic in a new project only because I have put a lot of work into this current project that I am working on.
- I am using the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB
Also I apologize if I misspell something or donāt properly express the problem I am having very well.
Thanks for the info, aside from āgame driveā confusion your spelling and lucidity are great.
I did a search for āAdapter->CreateCommittedResource(Desc, GetGPUMask(), HeapProps, InCreateStateā
and found this thread where the problem was coming from some GPU tuning application.
āVerifying Filesā in the āManageā menu of UEFN + Fortnite is always worth trying.
Creating and opening cinematics in a new project would help determine if this problem is more related to the state of your hardware (GPU crash) - or an asset problem. (Sequences that were created in previous versions of the editor are now problematic)
Unfortunately
- I have verified the files several times and the problem still persists
- I opened a new project and was working on a new cinematic and it did crash again with the same error. Which would mean its more related to the state of my hardware.
- I tried tuning my GPU application and nothing has worked so far.
I am not exactly sure what to do I have been going in circles and I am starting to think I should wait for the next update.
Bummer -
If you can narrow down a specific thing youāre trying to do in the new animation sequence that causes it to crash, that could be a step forward.
If an engineer at Epic could follow a set of instructions and crash it on their own PC that would be a high priority bug.
For hardware troubleshooting - you could try taking out your GPU and either running on integrated graphics (if your CPU supports integrated graphics) or swapping in a different GPU temporarily.
Getting into the territory of āintense troubleshootingā : an idea would be to disconnect your storage drive, and install windows on a new storage drive + test.
Waiting for an update is reasonable, they are listed on the roadmap - Iād give it until v28.00
Well
- I have been trying to narrow it down to what animation but nothing is standing out
- Its actually funny you state this because as of recently I tried editing the same project on my brothers PC and it also crashed with the same error and everything.

- Switching the gpu could be an idea
- Yes most likely I will wait for the update to fix this mess. The Editor really started crashing because of the 2 recent updates.
I very much appreciate your help thank you for taking time to try to help me!

Hey there
I have tried inputting the command on my fortnite but unfortunately It does not work. The Fortnite Editor still crashes.
If you can get in, right click and copy the file path of the sequence, close project & go into file explorer and take that .UASSET out of your project folder so you can keep working.
Not the frst problem with corrupted cinematics this update.
Hey,
Although it does not completely solve my problem It is a great alternate fix. Thank you for that recommendation
