Playing with raytraced global illumination - beautiful but light not bouncing off of character

Direct light peeking through hole in the wall is reflecting beautifully off the wall, lighting up the walls on the opposite side.

What doesn’t work is that same light bouncing off of 1st/3rd person character and lighting up those shadowed walls.

Edit: to simplify it - imagine a completely green character like Hulk walking out of shadow into direct daylight, green light bouncing off him all over the ground.

Edit 2: i’ts visible but barely. How to make character/material reflect more?
