When I try to playtest my islands my Windows 10 laptop first freezes, then crashes. My computer has all the latest drivers and updates.

Playing leads to complete system crash. Sometimes, I see the avatar from behind, but it is unresponsive and has no idle movement, no mouse cursor is visible. Sometimes
Thanks for the suggestion. I applied it, and my laptop still crashes to a blue screen. I have 32 Gig of Ram, a 2.60 Gigaherz Intel CPU and about 43 Gig of free space on a SSD hard drive. Do you think these meet the requirements for Fortnite? If they do, is there anything else I can try?
Could it be that the next update fixes this? (I had similar issues before after Fortnite updates which eventually had been fixed with the next update)
These must be “Run as Adminstrator”.
If you are using Epic Games Luncher you must start as “Run as Adminstrator”.
Check that your Project path is NOT on OneDrive, but on a local drive
The important thing to check is that your project Island Setting do not have DX12, Nanite, or Lumen enabled by default in you custom island.
Try and start UEFN if this works. The take a backup of of your island and import your custom island into UEFN.
Open select the Feature templates and select
“Introduction to UEFN” and the select create Make sure the path is NOT contain OneDrive
This MUST be on a local drive
Launching this island will call the Validation and Memory checker, before trying to load the custom island into Fortnite and you could possibly see the reason why, because the project wont pass validation
This YouTube poster gives lots of help on the lessons on the GTX 1650 lower specification
card.
Do you have a console or any computer by any chance? Im curious if fortnite is causing the crash or the editor itself. Also worth trying to set your fortnite’s rendering mode to performance if you haven’t already
I opened the Intro to UEFN project in the template section without problems. The island I am working on has been played numerous times without problems on high settings, it passes validation even now before it crashes upon launching a session.
One change I made recently is uninstall Unreal Engine. The installation of the full Unreal Engine seems to come with a prerequisite installer that can install required drivers etc. to run Fortnite on the system. UEFN does not seem to have that, at least I could not find it. Would it help to run that prerequisite installer on my machine, and were can I find it?
My machine more than matches the hardware requirements for UEFN, so that can not be the problem.
I have not been able to find documentation for disabling Lumen, Nanite and DX12, can you add a link?
I don’t, just the laptop. The editor works just fine, my island is at 80 plus fps at high rendering settings. Launching Fortnite without the editor also does not work, the game is freezing at startup.
