Placing any asset down in a scene MASSIVELY slows down editor FPS

Summary

When placing any asset in the scene as of 38.10 the editor lags out massively and makes it as low as 5 fps for a few seconds almost every time, this makes it almost impossible to work on projects with many props

Thanks! Was just to confirm xD
Many people are facing similar issues haha

Another issue that ISNT urc specific is going into another tab and then back to uefn makes the editor get EVEN choppier for up to 10 seconds , and this includes going in and out of the landscape or foliage tool windows the performance is absolutely abbysmal

Thank you for reporting this and I’m sorry you’re hitting this issue @Leo_JokerYT - we’ve been tracking some users experiencing this as of 38.00 Revision Control - Checking in often & super slow after Simpson Season Update - #13 by Dormikon .

Was this new for you with 38.10 though?

@Leo_JokerYT also can you please:

  • zip and share your logs with me - found at: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\UnrealEditorFortnite\Saved\Logs
  • let me know the following:
    • what region are you located in?
    • what is your operating system / version?
    • what are your your CPU, GPU, and hard drive specs?

@Leo_JokerYT Additionally, I would recommend making a separate forum post for this report about the non-URC related choppiness as it will need to get investigated separately and I don’t want it to get lost in the mix
