They used to flag any mention of the word XP. I had made a Tycoon that had it’s own separate in game ‘Lvl’ system to show progress in the game. I had a dialog that explained what the levels means and how to progress them and I used the word XP to describe the progress from 1 level to the next and it got flagged. I wasn’t using it in relation to Battle Pass XP so I was confused when it had failed moderation, but then it downed on me and I changed the dialog from XP to points as it still conveyed progress from one level to the next in the game. So there was a time where simply using the word XP at all was an instant rejection and now we have maps that say INFINITE XP and have XP pickups etc.
Ive been keeping tabs on this guy and check what he put
I dont know whats more worrying we dnt know if this is epic or that epic were potentially working with a known scam tactic person

Never going to change. I’ve watched creator after creator lose player count to these types of maps including my self. It is to the point where I’m back at work full time vs producing maps because it not economical at this point. Epic won’t do anything to fix this because these scam maps are still pulling players into the game at the end of the day. Playtime for honest creators is dead and we are all doomed.
Case of point: Not a single official response to this thread which contains multiple legitimate examples of rule breaking.
Maybe there is something we as creators can do, start a rumor that people playing these types of maps are getting banned (Players) and push some heavy hitting influencers to push it.

Its simple start tagging Disney into things on X i don’t think they would wanna be associated with a company who is fine with young people getting exploited or even better tag Elon in he hates Disney so im sure hell love this whole cesspool of criminals.
Legit i love making maps i think its one of the best things but in the yr ive been making games the revenue ive made is less than i made in 1 month working. You then look on discovery and its a mess all copied maps or quick slap together ones.
I made a completely new type of Red vs Blue even the whole game design is custom nothing like it on Discovery and it went on discovery for like 30 mins and bam got lost to the multitude of scam maps.
This map took 2.5 months to make hundreds of hours and that’s what i get like its a joke
PS im not saying do tag Disney in ect thats just what i imagine and is my belief that it would get a response as a reuslt

Happy to eat my own words here, Epic has issued a deadline of February 4th for creators to get there stuff together and remove terms: “afk” “xp” and a mix of keywords revolving around the term “coins”. This is a good step in the right direction. Next we need discover algo restarts so that everyone has a fair chance. Some people never even hit discovery while others have held the same spot for 1+ years. Imagine if video platforms pushed the same video on the front page for years at a time.

Discovery does need sorting its not only the fact that top maps stay on discovery but other maps also.
The issue is this
When your on discovery you get players and as a result you stay on discovery more and its this endless cycle. Now im not saying that maps like go goated or the pit ect should be removed entirely but how are other maps suppose to have a chance. In all fairness ive played better versions of those maps/game modes visually and more features yet the player base dies and falls off as it never stays on discovery that long and due to the pit ect always on discovery players just play it. I think its less about choice and more about its cos its on discovery.
The 2nd issue is you have maps in genres that have nothing to do with the genre you have maps in the TMNT tab that aint anything to do with turtles. You have copies maps everywhere and its such a joke. When they was the buzz for one show mammoth within a day discovery was swamped and you couldn’t see anything else just map after map of the same copied map and the standard ones ie pit ect.
imo maps like the pit ect if they are that popular they shouldnt be on discovery for a week as if players like it they will go search the map and find it. Creators are having to battle so many things and i know some who have stopped and quit making maps and its a shame instead you have all this shady bs going on and eventually the entire eco system is gunna be filled with scum no effort maps and tbh it almost is now
Then need to ban creators and remove maps instantly when they is a vid/post anything on sm about the maps and gaining rewards ie xp or vbucks ect
Lastly i like how they have added this new rule but think of it like this all the maps that have scammed people made 10’s thousands of $ get to change the words and thumbnail and keep the money does that seem fair ? i spend a long time making maps and not all are 100% but id like to think some deffo are and i make literally nothing its crazy all because of this systems and discovery
