…and Epic’s silence speaks volumes. The almighty dollar wins in the end, they are probably making more money because of it so they look the other way.
your not the first person to say that.
I know it would be extremely difficult but i think something needs doing for sure.
i could post clips all day its getting that big of a problem now but its more the fact that honest people who make maps can never compete unless they do the same.
How is a system like this able to function fairly when this happens
Ive not had any response so far on the subject but i would assume Epic know the issue and etiher
dont know a solution or like you say turn a blind eye for the players
Incorrect.
The problem can easily be solved by Epic. All these maps that are abusing social media to promote fake XP, are using UEFN hud message, or pop up dialog device to show fake XP awards on players UI.
Simple solution is for Epic to ban the word “XP” in the text of those devices. This would prevent scammers from making fake XP UI that’s similar enough to the real thing to trick players.
The word “XP” is already banned from Island Descriptions. Banning “XP” for in-game UI is a simple, much needed extension of Epic’s policy against fake XP, that could easily be automated in Epic’s existing AI moderation system.
I like your thinking
It could only be a positive step to tackle the issue at hand

Make the system fair better moderation now!!!
@TritonSailor You’d get my vote for Epic Scam Moderation Manager
New one
This guy has the F in Fortnite logo as a image for pp and the comment dude asks if he’s Fortnite
Maps only just been done the other day so this is a red handed tactic
another…
Its like the standard practice now is publish your map and create a fake xp vid straight away
Epic runs that survey system to ask questions regarding the platform.
I feel like Epic should be able to use AI to identify maps with unnatural spikes of activity. Now, obviously you cannot assume that all of these situations are due to scams. However, what if they utilized the survey functionality to ask users questions regarding the map as they left. Some first multiple choice question ideas?:
“Why did you choose this new map?”
“Where did you find out about this map?”
“Did you feel this map was promoted unfairly?”
You can utilize AI to setup some question progression scenarios to better hone in on scammer maps.
Give the people that are asked to participate in these surveys REAL XP.
Lock accounts, ban payments.
Make sure there is an appeals process that is timely to avoid locking out someone legitimate.
There can be answers other than sticking head in the sand.
This issue is very bad and have been for quite some time. But its a very delicate situation, since people can make videos about maps with fake XP and try to take them down.
I would say that if its obvious in the actual map that its built so it works for XP Exploit/Scam videos, they should be able to take action on that creator.
E.G They have buttons/Vending machines stating (9,999,999 Vbucks) or obvious hidden rooms that are designed for the sole purpose to be used on TikTok to trick viewers into playing the map.
Maybe Epic should allow a handful of trusted creators to get involved in the moderation process.
I think just getting it acknowledged would be a good first step.
Ive only grabbed some on Tiktok but imagine all the others on different social media platforms
People need to vote comment ect so it gets the attention it needs to make something happen
I am very new (a few weeks) to Fortnite and UEFN as I thought it looked awesome. Then I saw all the IP’s that are utilized and found it astounding. I am doing a TMNT island and they seem to have very strict rules, but really, I wonder what’s going on… Sad.
I think now that the island feedback questionnaire is live they should be numerous questions added that are solely for Epics feedback to keep tabs on islands.
This would not be a huge task i don’t think and it would only be available to Epic and not the creator themself.
as @Tshock22 said
“Why did you choose this new map?”
“Where did you find out about this map?”
“Did you feel this map was promoted unfairly?”
I think the idea about a generic XP Granting system for every island on creative so its all the same would help massively to this goal of minimizing scam islands.
Lastly i think they should be a popup basic agreement that shows when you start the game either for the first time or a returning person. This should set out as simple and clear as possible (as alot of the audience will be young children) and it shows either a clip of a vid by epic or stated facts. IE
The only way to get Vbucks is through purchase or Battle passes ect just standard simple things that everyone can understand and the player needs to confirm they have read it and accept then it doesn’t show again. I think a child friendly video would be better as its more entertaining to the user instead of reading lined facts
They could also be a separate report system for scam maps that you can link the url of the vid ect and the map code. i think all these things would make a good start on tackling this issue
