So MLP:FIM has three things that have a unique / interesting artistic take that we find interesting but have no idea how to replicate.

An “overcolor” / “Seperate / semi-transparent” color that overlaps with a main object. Such as with Unicorn Magic, as well as the “Pink” (Princess Celestia’s) and “Light Blue / Bluish Grey” (Rarity and Sweetie Belle’s) coat colorations. That are more, or less prominent with their white coats depending on lighting (or artist).

The “Light Glint” coloration strips that appear in their eyes.
1.A: Is a problem since we don’t know if materials can have different layers of transparency on a slider (How magic has a mostly transparent center, with a gradient to the darker wavy outline, with the lighter color eminating off of it.
1.B: Feels kind of like a secularity problem, except that the main problem is adding a near always constant, but mostly transparent layer of color to a character. (Making it so that light and shadow intensity affects how noticeable it is.*)
2: Like, we can just “texture, Base Color Map” the eye glints in there. But with multiple characters, each with their own individual color scheme needs, we’re mostly wondering how we can have the glints as well as the main eye colors in a variable. So that when we bring in a new character, we can just alter the sections that need fixing, to match it to their color scheme.
Second part of the same problem is that the color strips / “Glint Color” seems to travel depending on animator / needing to evoke an emotion (even if usually they are in the same place constantly.)
(Going with “humans”, “cel shading”, but we’re also looking to add a touch of the MLP:FIM art style for the skin, hair, and eyes, to give birth to unique and eye catching characters. That and the Flash style. Like the outline and color fill can be done with Invert Hull, Outline Tech, alter the outline color. But the skin and eyes are getting us a bit.)
*: Now we’re probably going to get fans blowing their lids on how Sweetie Belle and Rarity are pure white.
