Objects turning themselves back on

Every time I open my scene or restart Unreal certain objects that I had hidden such as lights or cameras will be turned back on for some reason. For example in my scene I turn off certain lights and cameras because I don’t need them at the time, then save my project yet every time I reload that map or reopen Unreal again all those objects that were turned off are back on again.

Anyone know what’s causing this and how to stop this?

Are you just turning them off by clicking the eyeball/visibility icon in the outliner?

As far as I know that is not meant to be a permanent state that is saved with the project. If you want to turn objects off in the editor in a more permanent way you have to click off the “visible” checkbox in the details panel, and if you want to turn objects off when actually playing the game you have to check on the “hidden in game” checkbox.

Yup I’ve been using the eyeball icon this whole time thinking it was permanent. Thank you
