So after a lot of try and error I found out that if you put planar reflection with your reflective surface and set GI in Post process volume from lumen to Screen Space (Beta) you can get your water to look correctly reflected on your mirror or whatever reflective surface, but again Screen Space sucks for GI so it is not a 100% of the solution but can work depending on the project, but not usable in my case.
with GI set to Screen space (Beta), right one shows the reflection because Planar reflection is placed there but the left one has no Planar reflection
Another that i found was that if you put r.RayTracing.Geometry.Water 1 then water material shows up as black mesh in reflection above wherever your water body is at that moment.
with r.RayTracing.Geometry.Water 1
Will update if I’m able to solve this or any other hack that i can find.
If anyone reads this post and has any solution Please do share, because i don’t think I’m the only one with this problem I’m sure others might also be struggling with it.
One tip :- If you are using ray tracing and cannot get reflections of another reflective materials then set your Max Reflection Bounces in Post Process Volume to 3 or above, it won’t be perfect like ray tracing but it is as close that i was able to get it to.
Also If you wonder wonder why your metal does not reflect other reflections properly it is most probably because the blend mode is set to Opaque as you can see below left material is set to the translucent and it reflects the water and right is set to Opaque and it doesn’t
Here is the same material just Blend mode set to Translucent and it now reflects :-
All of this is my OWN FINDINGS through try and error for my own projects, there might be other ways or there might be a possibility that I did something wrong. Please do share so I can learn with others struggling with same.
