No indirect lighting baked CPU Lightmass 5.7.1 and 5.6.1

Hi, anyone having issues baking lights? I’ve been spending two days on this, trying all kinds of solutions, but nothing works. I’m basically getting no Global Illumination, only the direct lighting is getting baked. I reinstalled 5.6.1 and it does not work either, with Visual Studio and Rider giving me bad warnings about vulnerabilities that I cannot fix…

Anyone has run into the same issues? I’ve been trying out and learning the process for baking lights for two days now and have mostly been hitting roadblocks that had to do with the engine being broken in some way (I’m assuming).

I just installed 5.5.4 which also is giving me vulnerabilities warnings, and it bakes perfectly. But I really would like the features of 5.6.1 and up, especially the MetaHuman creator.

Thank you so very much in advance for your answers, I really appreciate your time.

P.S. I disabled substrate materials as suggested by a forum post, but still nothing.

I created a blank project instead of a third-person template project, and baked lighting works fine now.

Yep, I did the comment about disabling Substrate in another post. I found another thing that might be blocking backing light to work: if your material have a value of “1.0” to its roughness attribute (that is, a “fully rough” material), baking seems to stop working. Maybe take a look if your materials have at least a little bit of reflectiveness and no fully rough materials.

As usual, be sure to have “Force no precomputed lighting” unchecked in World Settings (it is checked by default on some template maps), and enable Static Lighting in project settings. And obviously, your lights either static or stationary.

Good luck!
