Hi Epic,
I’ve got a question regarding the Particle cutout Use Material Cut Out Texture feature.
How it is expected to work? Based on the description it says that it could use the Material Opacity to calculate the particle cutout but when enabling the bool it doesn’t seem to work, as the cutout won’t be affected by the material opacity (and always return the full quad). Currently there’s this issue that if you update your material or update the texture, you have to manually update the particle cutout texture, which then some artist gets frustrated and may avoid doing it for that reason.
I was expecting the Use Material Cut Out Texture feature to solve the problem, where automatically would set the cutout, but when we used it, it doesn’t seem to work.
What is the expected workflow for that feature? couldn’t find any information around.
Also, any possibility that if you update the texture source, automatically could refresh the texture used in the particle cutout if that feature is not available? As currently, if you manually place the texture cutout, if you update the source the cached data won’t be update and you are force to repoint the texture.
Maybe we are doing something wrong so wanted to reach out to get your thoughts on it.
Kind regards,
Oriol Sans
