New Map Is not Going Into Discover Even After 4 Days While Spam Maps Get Discover Time

Summary

We have a brand new map that we worked on for endless amount of days to get perfect, and it’s still not in Discover even after 4 days? We also had our playtesters and own players play the game for 30+ minutes and more, but still this didn’t even move the map into discover.

All the data from the screenshot below is most of own players sent to the game. We specifically also planned our release for Friday in order for the map to go into Discover on Saturday, but even after us and our own players played the map on Saturday and Sunday, it still didn’t move the new map to be tested in New and Discover. It’s also was not placed in any Discover categories yet.

This is really disheartening for creators like us who work painstaking on every island experience and who focus on creating quality experiences, and then not receive any single Discover time over a 4 day period.

Also we plan our releases in order to be available to our players over weekend because this is the time they can play, but what is the point of having a game studio and your planning is of no use because you just never know if Discover will work or not.

How come we had our players play the game Saturday and Sunday and this didn’t even push the map into Discover while the 20+ spam maps with same thumbnail and exact same game shows up in Discover 1 to 2 hours after being published?

Because they have cracked the discovery algorithm and know more than You do.

Hi Belastrah,

I know in the past the time from release to being featured on a Discover Row would happen in a day or two.

Recently, in my experience it could take about a week. For example I released a map on May 16, and it was not until May 26/27 that it was shown on discover.

And another that was released on Oct 2 that appeared in discover on Oct 8.
