Summary
Since the recent Discover changes, it seems much harder, and sometimes almost impossible, for an island to return to the Updated tab after being placed in Genre tabs.
Before, tabs like Top Rated and Most Engaging could also affect the Updated tab rotation. However, this was not a major issue because islands would eventually leave those tabs, allowing them to return to the normal Updated schedule.
The issue with the new Genre tabs is different. Since each Genre tab can contain around 120 islands, an island can stay there for a very long time, even if it is ranked extremely low. For example, if an island is ranked around #100 in a Genre tab, almost no players will find it, but it still seems to count as tab placement. Because of this, the island does not return to the normal Updated tab schedule.

Other
Steps to Reproduce
- Update a Fortnite island.
- Wait for the island to appear in the Updated tab.
- The island later receives placement in a Genre tab.
- If the island is ranked low in that Genre tab, it receives very little visibility and counts as a discover placement.
- Because the island remains in the Genre tab, it does not seem to return to the normal 4-day Updated tab schedule.
Expected Result
Islands should still be able to return to the normal Updated tab schedule, even if they are placed in Genre tabs. Low-ranking Genre tab placement should not block or delay Updated tab visibility.
Observed Result
An island can get stuck in a low position inside a Genre tab. Since Genre tabs can contain many islands, the island may not leave the tab for a long time. During this time, it appears to stop receiving the normal Updated tab rotation, which severely limits visibility.
