Hi, I’m currently trying to make RTS fog of war and decided to make it deferred decal with DBuffer Translucent Color.
The problem is that decal is affected by light and shadows from landscape/objects. Is it possible to make deferred decal not receive any light thus become completely black?
Okay this might be a bit hacky, but it should work in most circumstances:
- Set your Decal Blend Mode to: DBuffer Translucent Color,Normal
- Connect a Scalar (0) to the Base Color slot
- Connect a Vector (0,0,-1) to the Normal slot
This essentially flips the normals of the decal. As long as you don’t have lights under the decal, it’ll be completely black.
