Nanite (landscape) displacement performance

Hi, i’ve been experimenting with Nanite Displacement and its been a blast.

Nanite Displacement adds a huge amount of creativity to environment design.

On the flipside, i’ve noticed a HUGE cost too performance. To the point where Nanite displacement is unusuable in any realtime scenarios. I’ve played around with nanite landscape settings to try and tweak it’s performance but the nanite landscape settings don’t do much in terms of performance.

I’ve done quite a few test maps with different sizes to get a grip on the performance cost.

Nanite displacement on Landscapes easily cuts the performance in half.

Im going from 120FPS to 50 FPS on a 2x2km Map

Similar results on smaller maps.

It feels like im missing something in terms of setup or settings, i can’t believe epic intedend nanite displacement to be this costly.

I would highly appreciate some input from other people who have experimented with Landscape displacement as i love the feature, and its been a long time coming ever since they stopped supporting the original displacement tools from UE4. But right now it’s unusable in its current state
