All you can do is wait for it to compile the shader, once done it should run fast.
Waited all day but seems to work
You might consider upgrading CPU then. I build UE4 from source to and it not more then 30 minutes
Mine took all day too. Bought 2nd best CPU in 2013
The PC I collected recently and the budget was enough only for intel celeron
I see same comment but when cooking game, is this something to worry about? or this is expected, engine is cooking stuff so runs faster when in shipped mode, right?

Getting the same issue. For some reason Visual Studio only uses a single core when compiling UE4, uses all the cores for other things. Can’t seem to get it to use more unless theres a setting I’m missing. Going to leave this over night and see if its something a slow brew will fix.
