After moving files between your project folder It’s quite possible that skein doesn’t allow you to check-in changes, because it keeps looking for the files in the old directory before it was moved.
Hey @gabocapo777
Thank you for reporting this issue related to Skein.
Do you mind sharing your logs in that are situated in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\skein\logs ? This way I can see what happened in the background and understand more the problem.
And just to make sure I understand the repro - Are you moving folders in the file explorer or the Content Browser ?
Thank you for your help
Hello! Thanks for your response. Yes I can do it. I deleted the .skein folder, so I was able to make a snapshot from scratch. But I had a backup of the project with the bug. The last logs are from the demo i made for you.
What I did was move directories in the Content Drawer and probably delete/rename some as well.
Also I notice something which I think is related, when you move all the files in the content drawer from the directory A to B, and you navigate to directory A with the windows explorer, you can see the originals files still there, but you don’t see them in the content drawer.
However if you delete this ‘empty’ folder using the content drawer, you delete the ‘original’ files, and all instances you had placed in the map. (I can make a other post about that issue with photos and better explained if you want more details or I have not explained myself correctly)

Hey @gabocapo777
From reading the logs you shared, it seems you were not able to login into skein with your current account. Can you confirm whether skein is enabled in the bottom and its not giving you any errors when trying to enable it if needed ?
It is normal that when you move with the content drawer that some files would still exist within the file explorer. It is to avoid any possible reference issues and not to break your project. ( it is using redirectors in the background to manage all of this)
I have the source control enabled with the green V, do I need to check it other way?
@Nysuatro_1 to take a look.
@gabocapo777 We actually submitted a fix related to authentication last Monday. Do you mind trying to repro this issue again ? As I wonder whether it might impact what you were experiencing before.
I actually also noticed that some files are missing on your disk. Would it be possible to delete the project on your disk and redownload it using your project browser ?
@gabocapo777 in case they missed this.
Hey I just wanted to add that I’m experiencing a similar skein issue with my project, every time I try to check in changes. I end up deleting the .skein file and taking a new snapshot every time I want to save my project with source control, because it’s impossible for me to check in changes.
Here’s my forum post about it. Minor: Skein - Can't check in changes. "Operation 'copy' not supported by source control provider 'Skein'" and "uasset does not exist"
