When I click on metahuman.unrealengine.com, Get MetaHuman, or Start MHC, they all redirect to the UE Download page. I’ve tried everything I can think of or that has been requested and nothing works. I’m on a PC, Windows 12, Google Chrome updated and cache cleared, UE5.4, 5.5, 5.6 installed and MetaHuman plugins enabled.
Now that MetaHuman is out of early access new users need to use MetaHuman Creator in Unreal Engine 5.6 rather than the legacy MetaHuman Creator in the cloud.

Other than the fact that we now have to install 5.6 just to use the creator. I don’t see a proposed workflow for using characters in earlier versions. I don’t have my humans tab in bridge. So do we have to aomehow manually backport metahuman asset from 5.6 to 5.3 for example?
@mrpotson the workflow remains unchanged for users who have previously used MetaHuman Creator in legacy versions. New users, who have never used MetaHuman Creator in the cloud, need to use UE5.6 and their MetaHumans will only be compatible with this version or above.
So if I want to start using Metahumans for the first time, and I have a project that’s in 5.3, it is impossible for me to use them anymore until my project is updated to 5.6?
but your system requirements for UE5.6 is that it needs to be windows (os) only. i’m using mac and only just started trying to use metahuman, does that mean there’s no way for Mac users to access the software either online or locally?

I’m also on Mac and wanted to start using MetaHuman for the first time. Have UE 5.6 and 5.4.4, and all plugins installed to the best of my knowledge.
Hi James, can confirm that none of the url links are going to the metahuman creator in 5.3 for a select group of users. What would cause this? We visit the same link with different results.

The US-based UE 5.6 Standard engine was left in the Epic Games launcher, but it is now often replaced by the one supplied by the FAB store.

hi, they simply deactivated the direct link from their home page. to enter you have to go through unreal engine. in the editor screen go to windows then quixel bridge, log in and it should show you the metahumans among the resources, click on one at random and in the specifications window on the left the button to access the edit link will also appear… these unreal support people are incapable, whatever you ask them they tell you to make do and look for it yourself. for this stupidity I lost 2 weeks when it would have been enough for them to answer “enter from quixel bridge” instead they sent me pages and pages of documents that were useless. it seems they don’t understand when you ask them for things, probably they use disabled employees perhaps hired by law… I don’t know
I am experiencing the exact same issue in a computer lab that cannot upgrade without administrative access. The lab will not be upgraded for 6 months. The solution to access MetaHuman Creator through Quixel Bridge does not solve the problem. Is there another way to access MetaHuman Creator for people who cannot upgrade their machines?

This will allow access to MetaHuman its been updated on June 18, 2025.
We are assuming you mean the production binary, because the source build has always works for 5.3 to 5.5 . Mac users have to build from the the source for earlier versions where the source has now been updatew=d to support Metahuman Creator
This does not administrative permissions, just the same permissions as loading UE binary originally

You are instead invited to use MetaHuman Creator directly in Unreal Engine. If you have not already, download and install Unreal Engine 5.6, before following the instructions here to begin making your first character.
