Megalights not working

I’ve been trying to enable megalights as intended, by going to Project Settings, Rendering, Direct Lighting. However, when i enable megalights, all i get is this message on my viewport


I’ve tried checking the log, but haven’t found anything noteworthy or relevant to what the message suggests. I have the “support hardware ray tracing” enabled, so i’m not really sure what’s causing the issue, but it’s been really troubling

I believe this doesn’t really help me in any way. The person didn’t actually want lumen, so trying to get rid of the message made more sense, cause it was completely irrelevant. In my case, Megalights aren’t working, even when i actually want them to

Check the limitations segment near the bottom of the page. Perhaps your project has an edge case like forward rendering. Megalights don’t do direct lights.

What machine are your running it on? Perhaps it’s switching to a integratet graphics instead of descreet if it’s a laptop.

I am running it on a Dell laptop, it’s Windows 11, so pretty modern. Also I checked my forward rendering setting, it’s turned off. I’m not really sure what to do about the directional light, cause I’ve tried experimentally deleting it, but nothing would change. Even when starting a new project, i can’t enable megalights. And each project still automatically has a directional light. Even the directional lights themselves have “allow megalights” checked.

Check to make sure your graphics card is set to the discreet one. If you can’t use megalights then perhaps your CPU only is powering the game.

I’m guessing your laptop GPU has raytracing capabilities.

There should be a section starting with LogRendererCore: Ray tracing is in your logs providing more info.

Could you share your log file? (Logs are saved in a .txt file in your project’s Saved/Logs directory).
