This has been driving me crazy! When I download a plant asset for example and place it in the scene it immediately becomes bleached out. See the screen grab image attached. I guess I have some basic setting incorrect as this seems to happen with all plant assets even in the most basic scene. Please can someone help!
The plants on the left have been place in the scene and look like this in the scene when played or just in the viewport. the two on the right are as I would expect and before placement in scene??
This seems to be happening with all plant assets. and with various lighting set ups, it feels like there is some universal setting that needs changing?
Aha, thes seem to work better. Strange i was using other assets from the temperate vegetation collection. Maybe something went astray when I imported. Thank you!! I have to get on with something else now, will try some other tests later. and let you know THANK you!!
Yours looks better. The telling thing is that when placed in scene the colour changes in the content browser as well?? See screenshot! the one at the far left is the only one of these place in scene, the others bleach out as I place them?? alt text
EDIT: No, I can’t quite get the same luminosity as you, but I have seen it with this pack. In the material instance for this mesh, the first parameter is brightness, I’d say that’s a good starting point.
I’ve tried messing with the lighting without much success, played with post processs and lightmass volumes as well. What I dont understand is why some plants are vibrant green like the ferns in the screenshot while others like the grass in the back look washed out. Both ferns and grass are from same source Basil plant in center is from mega scans.
I’m working on a mac and the scene here is the standard third person template. Is there something about the way the mac renders that causes some material settings to render differently
