I hope you’re well, currently we have some issues with reimport option for our FBX in Unreal 4.20.2.
We our level artist reimport a mesh, sometimes the engine create new ID material or shuffle the order.
We check on UDN and Unreal forum, our meshes are combine and we never have this issue before the 4.20.
Here’s a quick video with idea material different between the material section and the LOD section.
I know it’s normal it could be different, but the material section just merge 2 ID.
Sometimes, it create a new one, and for example as you can see in the video we have currently 9 ID for only 5 on the mesh.
We check on internet, we see that Unreal get this issue in the 4.14 and we check and their is no bug fix in 4.20.1/.2/.3.
Is it something you allready know? It never happen with new mesh, only on reimport.
