So in 25.10 some change was made to Audio Players that fully breaks them. I don’t know exactly what the cause is but I can explain what happens.
I have multiple Audio Players in my map that play from the Instigator’s Location.
The first time the Device is triggered, it plays fine. However the second time instead of updating the Sound’s location to the Instigator’s current location, it will play from the location IT WAS FIRST TRIGGERED FROM.
This is only one of the many issues I’ve had but any maps that use Audio Players are most likely affected.
Essentially the Audio Location is only set once and then is NEVER UPDATED.
I am tired of Audio being completely ignored in Creative and UEFN, it is horrible, limited and annoying, and now fully broken.
While this might not sound as bad, it is extremely important in games that use the Audio Players for main mechanics, as an example, this bug essentially fully broke my map.
@Rynex_FNC Thank you for your report! We would like to look into this further, would you be able to submit a bug report using the form available here? Fortnite Creative
I noticed the same thing on my map as I was trying to make a few small changes today. It was driving me crazy as it was working perfectly before the update. I didn’t know what was causing it but ended up trying something that helped.
The setting are set like this at the top, fyi:
I did find a fix for my map by deselecting these options in the audio player:
These setting were on before the update but I don’t think it matter because of the setting Instigator Only and Instigating Player, etc. But for some reason when I deselected them it fixed my issue that happened after the update today.
This isn’t a solution sadly, in my cases I NEED both Spatialization and Attenuation, it doesn’t make sense turning these off if you need the audio to play from a Player’s location.
A little more information on speaker volume settings in FNC. You can set all the volumes back after they had been wiped. The backup the island, then restore it and some of the volumes on some speakers will be reset to 0 again. I don’t know if this is happening with other settings on the device also but its making it near on impossible to work with audio.
