Lumen and strand-based hair

I’ve been wondering if it’s on Epic’s roadmap to at some point support strand-based hair with lumen in any capacity. Considering that both Metahumans and Lumen are an integral part of the engine now it seems like a bit of an oversight that they’re only compatible with each other to a certain degree.

I’m actually curious to how this has been solved in the Matrix demo. I’m assuming that the actors always had a set of non-area character lights set up around them as there’s quite a bit of rim lighting on their faces. Perhaps their hair was converted to cards as well? Really curious to solve this since we’ve been preparing elaborate grooms for our characters that might now not work in lumen altogether.

Did a bit of searching and found there’s a UE5 roadmap that actually lists lumen support for hair and fur, though I can’t seem to figure out if this is still a planned feature or already implemented and I’m missing something.
