Lumen and Instanced Static Meshes

I have been having issues with Lumen in UE 5.1 where any static mesh will reflect light properly but no Instanced Static Mesh will, ISMs will receive bounced lighting but not give bounced lighting. I have enabled Nanite, lumen is properly enabled and I have even played with the diffuse boost for the ISMs materials. Nothing seems to work. Let me know if you have any idea. Thanks!

Just a couple of questions, that may or may not help:

  1. Are they ISM or HISM?

  2. Have you / can you enable hardware ray tracing?

I cannot and do not want to use hardware RT. They are HISM, are ISMs the only ones supported? Doesnt make much sense if HISMs arent but ISMs are.

Not sure if you have any idea, but this is a huge issue, keeps me from being able to actually utilize Lumen properly.

I’m working on UE5.0 with splines and HISM right now but I can’t replicate your issue. Can you provide more details?

Nanite on or off makes no difference.

I don’t think the issue is caused by LODs:

No metallic material:
