Low Variance in Rewards email fix?

Has anyone gotten an email as soon as an island was published and approved, stating “Your players are earning XP at almost the same rate in your Experience. There may be a lack of Accolades that reward a variety of players. XP rewards may be disabled if this issue persists.
Introduce a variety of Accolades that are challenging and can be attainable by a variety of players. Some Accolades should be set up to be attainable by most players.”?

There are about 12 ways, of varying difficulty and time, to earn XP. I’ve reworked the XP earning system in my island twice, added more accolades, and lowered the XP granting amounts and frequency, but I still receive the email. It also flags all the private versions of the island even though there is no XP on them (Or so the stats say).

Is this a bug or is there really an issue? I have seen a few other people with this issue, with no solution. I don’t want XP removed from my map as its big part of it, being a party world and all.
If anyone has found a fix for this or knows how to prevent it in the future I’d be grateful if someone could share it with me.

It’d be really nice if the email would just say “XP is being earned too fast, space out the window of earning.” Or “Use a different device to grant XP.” Something more precise and helpful than a double negative. I’ve sent emails but have gotten no response, I’m lost, please advise.

I have the exact same problem. I’ve reworked all my accolades exactly the way Epic says they should be used and I still get that email.

There seems to be nobody out there addressing this. Please update if you find a solution!!

Wow ok, I will be sure to share the fix and reason as soon as I find out. This is so weird, I hope it gets addressed soon :frowning:

I began creating 9 months ago. My first map still gets the error. Over the past month I’ve created 3 new maps with different accolades, and all of them got the error too. One of them even got the error when it was only 4 hours old. Some of the maps have had 1000-1900 players per day, so you’d think they’d be calibrated now. After trying everything with different accolades I’m convinced it’s related to either the HUD Message Device, or not having over 2000 players per day.

Interesting… I do have an HUD device on the map, I’ll remove it and see what happens (and follow up with y’all).
This is my first published map and hasn’t broken 200 players yet, I wasn’t aware of the 2,000 players thing. Thank you for the info, it means a lot to me

Aaaand back to square one, I removed the device yet, just like every day within the hour of 10 PM, I got the email again… Thank you anyway

I meant that the problem may be related to settings on the Hud Message Device, or the Accolade Device.
Heres what I’ve seen:
1: Creator Portal said: “No Accolade Devices Detected”, but I DID HAVE THEM.
2: I added Hud Message devices, so that every Accolade Device could send test messages.
3: With those Hud message devices the Creator Portal detected the accolades, and is tracking their use.
4: Low Variance might be fixable in a similar way. Either via a setting on the accolade device, a setting on the hud message device, or maybe another device is needed to compete things.

Hi I’m having the same issue after a few hours I get the same email but I don’t know how to fix it? I’m a new creator starting out and I dont have that many players on my maps so not sure how to fix the issue?

UPDATE: It seems no matter what you do, an island won’t give XP until it gets 5000-8000 players in one day. To get those numbers your island will need to be featured on the front page of Fortnite Discovery several times. I have over a dozen maps now. Only one has ever gotten XP, and it’s the only one that reached those numbers after being featured several times. My other maps have been featured a few times, but only got 2000-4000 visitors per day and therefore still not giving XP. The map that did reach 5000-8000 visites in one day suddenly gave XP, kept doing it for a few weeks, but when it wasn’t featured the numbers fell and it suddenly stopped giving XP again.

Fortnite.GG now gives stats on Fortnite Games and Creators. By looking at those stats you can see there’s nearly 5000 Fortnite Creators. Not sure how many islands, but probably over 10,000.

Using those stats I’ve seen that several of my islands have reached higher than #200th most visited island at certain points of the day. That would rank them around the top 2% of Maps. However, it still wasn’t enough visits to be awarded XP. The stats there show that at times I’ve reached #134th most visited Creator out of nearly 5000 Creators, so Top 3% of Creators. However, ist still wasn’t enough to keep XP. My most visited map only had XP for a few weeks.

I see this a little old, but I would like to see if I can help. Do you have an island code that I might be able to take a look at?

Hello, I’m a new creator and received the same email: Island code is 3199-7847-9121

When making the map I made sure there were a variety of different accolades with different XP levels.

Thanks for looking into this, sorry for the late reply.
Map code is : 3559-1254-0734
Since I last posted on here the map in question has been removed from the discovery tab for reasons I’m not sure.

Thanks for all the extra info Wicked, its a big help in figuring this all out. Thank you so much! I guess I gotta become a big shot creator then? Challenge accepted :v

I don’t think visits per map has anything to do with the new emails going out stating there is a low variance in rewards. This is about the Accolades not set up correctly. Seems this happened to ALL of my maps that got XP in the past. Nothing changed with them, now they say they are set up in correctly. I think this all happened with the NEW creative update. Seems it doesnt matter how much you rework your Accolades/devices, your still going to get the email. I have not found one person yet who is not getting that email.

A staff member noticed this post so perhaps its being looked into now. I hope it gets fixed soon, until then, we wait. :v
Thanks again!

Thank you for the information, we have released a fix for this and it should not longer be an issue.

Thank you all, I’ll be checking the next time I get an email that it won’t be filled with private islands!
Also, any idea on how to get XP enabled on an island? Is it a certain amount of players playing, or accolade triggers you need to qualify? Lots of people have different theories so any help is appreciated. Thank you!

The best information I can give is to repeat what was previously posted:
