Its reflecting the sky too much or something, if you have a sunset it will make the map have a pink tint (same color as the sky), if its just daytime with blue sky it will result in a blue tint on the map
see lighting before and after 35.00 below, both are with the CH5 TODM (before update is with blue water)
you can see it on the white ramp as well that its more pink now with the new lighting
hi @GraemeBB ,
Tested like @AtAshTag on the latest 35.00 which 34.40 has been uninstalled from all devices then installed 35.00 from scratch âPreparing Shadersâ appear on consoles.
Then the updating message and the new copy of Island loads and Android, Nintendo, Xbox One X, all work no blue.
My guess is itâs the Direct X drivers on the PC. Try another PC unload 34.40 and load a new install of 35.00, this will load your island. In Fortnite Settings, while 5473-5965-0108 is running, I got to the graphic setting notice Direct X 11 is selected, and the sky is very blue. Select Performance and Apply and Test .
The message asking to restart Fortnite comes up click Restart now after restarting the sky blue is correct. The games does indeed get faster.
Like @AtAshTag says you need to load a video of the problem on the First listed Island
My PC laptop is running Windows 11 24H2 the PC Island looks a bit different to the console versions
The grass is green and more detailed on the Nintendo
customize your lighting, use the Day Sequence device and the Ambience settings available in the World Settings category under Island Settings. Check the release notes below for more information.
Please note: UEFN templates that are still using legacy lighting will be updated in v35.10. If you create a project with a UEFN template that uses legacy TODM and Skydome device between the 35.00 and 35.10 releases, you will receive a prompt to convert to the new TODM.
I tested on my island including published and i cannot replicate it. I have always used the todm device so i would assume as @Jimbohalo10 said its to do with your islands and the setup you had with the skydome device.
If you follow the info Jimbo said itll help you to re do it as the new standard. I would have thought even though it has been auto changed to the todm device automatically you shouldnt get a tint so im unsure on that.
It has nothing to do with Skydome device, which only works with the Legacy TODM and which is now deprecated, Iâm saying compare it to a map that used the CH5 TODM before and after the 35.00 update, thatâs also what I did, as you can see in my screenshots the sky is the same, only the lighting is different like the color on the water and on the ramp
Thanks for the response. I appreciate that. There are a ton of reports online of people complaining about their maps having a blue tint to them. I thought it might help Epic to know that they broke something. Many maps do not use custom lighting at all like the skydome or TODM and itâs just got a blue tint it seems. I canât imagine having to now suddenly have to reinstall fortnite from scratch to fix it, that seems excessive⌠Either way, hopefully somebody looks at this problem when they have some time or it resolves from some future update maybe.
Just opened a map that I was working on before the update and now first time after the update and I would agree itâs much more noticeable in shadows how much blue tint there is. It looks awful if you make a âdarkerâ location. I hope Epic fixes this
