Lighting Critique Needed

I’m worked on a Relight project and would love to get some feedback on my lighting design. Could you please take a look and let me know your thoughts?

Thanks

post edit: hey. welcome to the forums. yo. art critique is rare in here, but… let me have a looksie.

1st: no ambient light. there is a night sky with some brightness but the shadows in the scene are pitch black. same on the interiors. it’s lacking a lil bit of gi. also… the light props don’t bloom. the construction lamps for example are just grey, not lit at all. and… i can see some of the scatter patterns of lumen. random light spots all over the place. not great. you added chromatic abberation to spice it up, but it doesn’t really safe that one. it’s just a cgi post effect. rarely adds to anything. hmm

2nd: better than 1st. nice fog. could use some variying density or flow and “particle” dots in it. and still… in some shots the fog covers it up, but… in the out of fog close ups the shadows are a lil too dark. no illumination from the sky in the scene.

that’s all i got.

I know this might be more a larger artistic one than a specifically technical one, but in the camp scene, what mood are you trying to achieve? Are there specific objects you’re looking to push as focal points? What’s the narritive you’re trying to suggest? Lighting is all about using visibility and color to tell a story- what story are you trying to tell?
