hi, my character skeletal mesh has this strange light leaking from the hood to the head, every light in the scene have this issue, the skeletal mesh has a physic asset for capsule shadows and every material two sided. also i add a physic material to the hood but nothing works.
Have you confirmed that the normals aren’t reversed? (Facing the wrong way)
normals are good, even reimported with inverted normal dont solve it.
This is an issue with the approximation of lighting model used by many game engines. You see this often inside of mouths as they tend to glow.
Common solution is to separate the hood from the rest of the mesh so it doesn’t approximate with the rest of the mesh. This can have its own issues of bleeding between edges and small distance.
thanks rimmyD for the information, unfortunelly im too advance in the shortfilm to do that and re skin and apex , but i will have it in mind next time.
well trying to remodel and separate the hood from the body, also delete faces in the hood but the problem persist
