Light BP Runs in Game - Not in Sequencer


I have a very basic BP of a flashing light which I built using a tutorial (see image of the Event Graph here)

It runs just fine in game mode and via simulation (flashes randomly), but it fails to run when I play a cinematic in Sequencer. The light stays on during the cinematic, set to the default intensity it has in the BP.

I added it to my Sequencer to see if I needed to somehow trigger it there, but it really just lets me expose the lighting variables to keyframe them. Any ideas why this simple BP triggers in game mode but not when I run Sequencer?
