Lighing glitch

has anyone come across this and know how to fix it

Hey @Cybrock9000! Welcome to the forums!

Usually when I see this it’s accompanied by that warning- Expect extremely poor performance. BUT that doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed.

Can you show us:
Which light is causing this
Which object should be blocking it (make sure it has a back face to block light)
Are you using Lumen?

Get back to us with more info!

both lights are using lumens, and there both spotlights. i even built the game to see if it was ue5 acting up, but no. thanks for responding

Ok, well we need to see more than this. Where the light is coming from. What is actually blocking it to create that half-blockage.

Is it that the roof there is not a static mesh? If it’s something made with UE5 as a geometry it has to be converted to static mesh to have light blocking properties.

the light from the top picture is just a normal spotlight while the one on the bottom picture is attached to the player. there is nothing blocking the light. And I made the map with the cubegrid feature and it is static.

Hmm. Well that’s strange. Almost like the spotlight isn’t reaching on one side.

Maybe try turning off Lumen? Project settings, Global Illumination Method.

This will at least tell us if it’s lumen-related.

Im afraid that doesn’t work ether

Hey, the good news is that tells us that Lumen is more than likely not related. That shortens the scope quite a bit.

Does distance to the wall affect it?

Also have you tried adjusting the overall graphic settings?

Play around with these a little bit. That warning you’re getting is directly related to rendering and lighting, so it’s going to be hard to get perfect. But if you turn up or down some settings you could get it to go away!
