Issues with Visual Effect Powerup Device

Summary

  1. Visual effect - Outline is not functioning on mobile devices.
  2. The option Is effect visible to local player has no impact; setting it to true or false both result in the local player seeing the effect.
  3. The setting “Team relationship visibility” is set to everyone, but the effect is not displaying for everyone. During testing, I observed that if a player picks up the effect close to another player, the effect works fine. However, if the player picks up the effect from a distance and then approaches another player, the effect does not appear.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Set the “effect” to play as an outline on mobile devices.
  2. Change the option “Is effect visible to local player” to false and conduct testing.
  3. Set “Team relationship visibility” to everyone. Play the game, pickup the VFX device far from other players, and then approach another player after obtaining the effect.

Expected Result

  1. The outline should function on mobile devices.
  2. The effect should not be visible to the local player.
  3. Everyone should be able to see the effect regardless of the distance from which it was picked up.

Observed Result

  1. The outline does not function on mobile devices.
  2. The effect is visible to the local player.
  3. Enemy players can’t see the effect unless it pick up closer to them.

The status of UCB-1251 incident has been moved from ‘Needs Triage’ to ‘Closed’. Resolution Reason: ‘Duplicate’

Can we see where the duplicate post is at least? Where can we follow the current status of the issue?

This is still an issue, and has been for years. Crazy how the largest game in the world can’t fix simple issues like these that have been reported 100’s if not thousands of times.

We fixed this issue by changing the vfx to use cpu sim. But that is not very optimal.
