Has anyone had issues with their tax interview where TaxIdentity could not verify your tax info but there is no way to redo or update any of your tax info? It’s been a few weeks and I have not heard anything on this issue.
I have spoken to support via chat and email and they both do not have an answer for me beyond to look at the @EpicCreators twitter account for any possible updates on this issue. That twitter account has not mentioned this problem so I am concerned that no one is working on a fix. I have been working on some map designs but with my Island Creator status in limbo I get worried that it will never go through.
I’d love to hear some official comment that this is a known issue and if other people are experiencing the same thing.
No, not yet. I’ve checked that twitter account and also tagged them but they have not replied or posted any information on this issue. I’m not really sure what to do at this point.
We’re aware that Creators wanting to retake their Tax Interview after filling it out the first time during the application process are unable to do so. We are working on a solution. I’ll let you know when I have more information.
I’m not looking for an actual response to this but felt I needed to ramble a bit on this issue.
It’s been very frustrating as I was waiting for a few months to get a code to publish maps while Epic was not issuing any new codes. And now it’s been over an additional month since UEFN was released. As one additional month has already passed I wonder if I should have just created a new Epic account to start the clock for the 90 days and 21 days of UEFN to get a Island Creator account. I’m hoping that this issue will be fixed before 90 days, though! I’ll really be kicking myself if it takes more than 3 months to fix this.
For some reason Tax Identity could not verify my business information that comes directly from the IRS. I understand that support staff are very busy with UEFN being released, but, part of me is always hoping that someone will say “Hey, let me look over your account and just reset your Tax info so you can redo it until we get this issue resolved.” I can imagine it’s not that simple, unfortunately.
Do Media Creators have the ability to publish maps with earned income? I wonder if I should just apply for a Media Creator account if they have the same map publishing abilities. I have enough followers… hmm… Anyway, I’ll go back to checking the @EpicCreators Twitter account as recommended by support. They haven’t even mentioned this issue, btw.

Another odd thing. Today I received my 3rd email from Tax Identity telling me to retake the tax interview with a link that doesn’t allow you to retake the interview.
Every time I get that email I get my hopes up that the issue has been fixed, lol. This is kind of the definition of automated systems trolling the humans.
I was wondering if there was any update to this issue keeping people from joining the Island Creator program and posting maps for the community? It’s been 38 days now.
It would be great to hear if there is a timeline for this to be fixed. If there are any staff that can look into specific cases I’d be happy to chat to see if there is anything we can do. I’d love to get this resolved.
@mengzhishanghun I’m not sure what happened but after a while (around a month) I was finally able to redo the Tax Interview. I would check the page for the Island Creator program a few times a day to be honest.
I’m not sure if the issue in general was fixed or if it just takes a while for each individual. There hasn’t been much information on this at all. Either way, I hope you can redo your Interview soon! Good luck!
Hi, im having an issue where i put some incorrect information and im unable to retake the tax interview to change it. Ive tried contacting epic but no luck, it seems the Redo tax interview button is greyed out for some reason? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
I’m having this same issue. I’ve been waiting two weeks for them to approve my business EIN, and nothing. Support is completely ignorant to the situation and keeps ignoring every message I send, I’ve tagged epic on twitter, and I’m 4 months deep into making the map. Honestly had this been the issue in the beginning I never would have wasted my time and money.
Can epic please hire a competent support team for the love of god?
