Is there any documentation/guidance on integrating multiple GPU vendor plugins for upscaling, frame gen, and input latency?

I’m looking to integrate these plugins from Nvidia, AMD, and Intel to expose upscaling, frame gen, and input latency options to the player.

I’m becoming aware this isn’t a trivial thing to do because of the dependency matrix between all the different systems. I’ve also heard the compatibility queries provided by the plugins can’t always be trusted, and they can conflict with each other depending on things like plugin load order (specifically frame generation).

I’m wondering if Epic have provided any guidance or documentation on this to make it easier?

Thanks!

Hi Sam,

We don’t have documentation for integrating and exposing the settings for the IHV plugins you mentioned. We rely on the IHVs to provide the best guidance for their plugins. The closest thing we have are various talks from other developers and vendors on the Epic Developer Community website (e.g. Resolution Scaling, Frame Generation, GPUs, and Other Bramble Pits | Unreal Fest 2024). There is at least one PR I’m aware of to help make switching between IHV frame gen solutions better that is in progress and may be of use to you: Add changes to support multiple IHV frame gen solutions in a single title, and also swapping IHV frame generation at runtime without restarting the title.

Hope this helps!
