Is Nanite Tessellation broken on terrain since 5.6 ?

Nanite Tessellated Landscapes seem broken in 5.6 on 4K Resolution


In 1080p desktop res it looks fine. And also in builds in 4K it has the same flickering problem.

I also know Nanite + WPO is broken in 5.4+ ( already submitted a bug report a few months back) in both 1080p and 4K desktop resolution.

Is this a well known bug ?

NOTE : Not sure if it matters but I’m also using assets from the ElectricDreams demo so Substrate is also on. I also tried Substrate off and the ue-main branch/UE5.6 and it has the same problems. I’m also using an RX 7900 XT.

I have the same exact problem on Skeletal Meshes with nanite displacement.

Yep it’s broken, light it’s also different from 5.4 on landscape using nanite on

Tested With 5.5.4, both issues persist
Tested with 5.6.0 final, both issues persist

Tested with 5.7.0, both issues persist

Tested in 5.7.1 with a different project and I’m surprised it also happens on non-landscapes. This is a barrel from the Medieval Village pack that’s free this month.

UPDATE : 5.7.2 didn’t fix anything

I have heard that nanite tesselletion still doesn’t work on AMD cards.

Nanite Tessellation is working fine in my project, landscape and modelled objects of my own. 5.7.1

Just tested it and it works fine on my AMD GPU.

Your screenshot resolution is 1920x1201, I already said it works fine in 1080p, did you test 4K as well ?

That’s the forums doing it, I work in 1440p.

Ok, I already said the issue is visible on 4K only.

I also tested the latest UE-main as of 9 May 2026 and it’s still broken
