in the image attached there is a point light inside that lamp & both the point light and the lamp mesh are set to Moveable. A customer of mine was wondering if it would be possible to soften the edges of the lamp’s own shadow? (The shadows remain the same if I set them to static or stationary)
You can use the source radius when using static/stationary lighting for a static actor. If you’re using a dynamic light you’ll have to enable Distance Field Shadowing and use the source radius to control the softness. If enabling Distance Fields for the project there is an opt-in cost to performance that you may not want to pay though.
