Hi everyone, I’m working on a VR project and am getting an unusual and intermittent rendering issue that has been popping up at seemingly random times. In the editor the scene will appear normal but sometimes, as shown in the image below, when I press play the entire level goes this odd black and white metallic color. Sometimes the issue will only appear in parts of the level, other times it will be all over and sometimes it will be more intense or less intense.
This issue started occurring yesterday morning and happens without me doing anything to the lighting i.e. I will press play and it will be normal, I might then move an actor or tweak a blueprint, then press play again and then it will appear like in the image below.
I have a dozen or so spotlights/point lights in the level then a handful of rect lights along the ceiling to light the hangar and am using the default directional light, sky atmosphere, skylight etc.
All of the project’s lighting settings are the default lighting settings.
None of the meshes in the project are using the nanite system.
Things I have tried so far:
Restarting the engine (This only fixes it temporarily)
Restarting my computer
Building/baking the lighting
Setting all lights to static
Setting all lights to movable
Turning off “Cast shadows” on all spotlights and point lights
Verifying the integrity of the engine
Updating my graphics card drivers
This issue doesn’t seem to appear in any builds thankfully, but it can make testing a bit difficult.
Has anyone else come across similar issues? Any advice anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Manning
