Only way I know how to show this behavior is a YouTube view.
I think it’s something to do with my project, importing the same model into a completely new project did cause the effect at all seen in the above video. In addition the HDRI background in the mesh editor seems to have disappeared but is find if imported into a new project.
Anyone know what is going on here?
If I could fix the the project I’m working on would be great, my other solution is to create a new project and migrate everything over to the new project, but it’d be nice to know how to fix this issue in case it happens again.
Just tried migration – Unreal Engine 5.4 Crashes before it can complete the task (reports sent)
the mesh editor looks like you have broken autexposure settings. iirc i had a missing background in there before too, i don’t remember how i resolved it tho. sry
if this project setup is vital… i’d advice to create a new project and copy over blueprints and data piece by piece to figure out what breaks the engine.
Yeah just tried doing that; the result was every mesh, landscape everything was just straight “white”, good thing I packed up the project in an archive before I tried that one or I’d have lost 2 months worth of work, good new is I didn’t lose anything bad news is I’m back where I started with the same problem;
Turning off Lit → Exposure stops it form blooming all white; I guess that’s a start but I guess something else is broken, if I’m not seeing the HDRI background & platform in the mesh editor tab.
Turning off Auto Exposure appears to fix the mesh glowing white mesh problem, doesn’t explain why the HDRI background for the mesh editor has gone a.w.o.l though.
Found it;
Window → Preview Scene Settings; and ensure Show Environment is checked.
Yet, bizarrely we still have questions… as in how on earth did it disable itself to begin with, without my express authority for it to have done so. hmm.
