IARC questionnare

I thought I answered the questions correctly but I failed content for “1.18 Island Content Disclosures” i.e. something on the questionnaire was wrong? But it doesn’t tell me which question was wrong. Am I supposed to guess? The map was already published and accepted so it’s just the IARC stuff that’s wrong. How do I find out what’s wrong?

I had this issue as well, I was able to get my map updated after trying again. I don’t like how it groups the thumbnail and question answers together as one error message, which one is it? lol.

In my case I changed the thumbnail very slightly, and answered 1 question differently (Under the violence section I switched it from Often from a distance to Often up close). Map was approved after this however it bumped my rating from 13+ to 16+ in Russia, No more Russian players for my map :frowning:

I have the same problem, they have denied me four times already, the worst of all is that each time they tell me something different.

Thank you for your report! Can you please re-post using the “New Issue” option on the Issues and Bug Reporting forums? Posts with this feature are connected directly into our development team so we can quickly get to them!

I have the same issue and I’m not certain how to proceed. My island is essentially the same and I tried to answer the questions accurately, is the requirement that I have to disclose the RATING in my image?

Checking back in here, I can’t get any maps to approve unless they rate 16+ in Russia making them ineligible. Which makes no sense because if you answer the IARC questions as if you were submitting Fortnite Battle Royal it would fail, so how are these questions fair to begin with?

Hello had the same today i had approved rejected approved rejected…
With the same map no changes
Just adjusted some timing in the mechanics.

That´s timewasting especially you need a new Publish every time…

Spend on one map 4 hours today just on that, reading the IARC questionary 30 times and it just do not add anything in my game what i have to answer with a yes…

If your game has weapons, pvp or not, it is considered violent. If it has a single element that could be scary it is already considered horror (in my case it was an apocalyptic setting) it is already considered a horror game, if it is horror and has a monster it has to mark that it is fantasy" I don’t remember well the name of that question but it worked for me with a horror map

There is another option that you need to mark as yes: “Does the game allow users to purchase digital goods”

Good tips, but you shouldn’t answer “Yes” to the “allow users to purchase digital goods” question. Epic put together some FAQ on the process and that was one of the few questions they give you a definitive answer for.

In saying that, I’ve answered Yes to that question before I found the FAQ info and it passed. The whole IARC process is a bit of a mess right now and seems to be overly reliant on the person who’s reviewing the submissions on Epic side, they aren’t very consistent.

oooh thanks for sharing it, in my case it was very crazy that when I changed the answer “Yes” to the “allow users to purchase digital goods” they accepted my island, it is very bad that everything depends on who reviews your island

The people who moderate islands used to not know about copyrighting but know they got to learn legal terms, I’m actually impressed with this

I’d love to see a “Fire-side-chat” with the map reviewers. Curious to hear that they have to say about map validation / rejection and the kind of stuff they see out there lol.
