This is probably a general feature of pathtracing as an unbias renderer. It works the same way in Octane, where invisible light is reflected in a mirror (all specular objects) and is visible behind glass. However, in Octane there is an option for the emission of the material that makes up the light source to turn off the effect independently for diffuse and specular, but I don’t know if UE can do that, I haven’t needed it yet.
