Hi there, I have just create a slate and put DMI on it, which will act like a TV screen with movie played on it. But I have a concern that how can this emissive screen be like a real world TV to make the environmental lighting changed depending on it (e.g. when something red is played on screen, the environment changed to red a bit).
I’m really a newbie to those texture or material things so below is all I can do by myself…
It looks emissive but is actually not illuminating other objects. Anyone can help me out?
The solution suggested in the answer above only works for casting static lighting into the room, the plugin does it dynamically so the lighting of the room matches your video at all times and also supports stationary lights with baked shadows or movable lights with fully dynamic shadows.
In 4.25 I aligned the rec light with the screen and use the video texture as a source. Play around with the settings of the light and it gives a passable look of emissive light that is dynamic.
