How to light a dark corridor correctly?

I have modeled a corridor in Blender then exported it to UE4, then i added a ceiling lamp mesh and placed a point light inside it. The result is not bad but i want to make it look more realistic. How can i achieve a better lighting in conditions like corridors, dark rooms etc?

If realism is the main focus and you don’t need to move the objects, you can use the “static lighting” method, but it all depends on what your application is going to be and who’s going to use it.

Set all the objects and lights to static in the details panel:

and increase the lightmap size of the objects receiving shadows (floor, walls)

then build the lighting

If this is what you’re looking for you can then adjust the quality by using the Lightmass Settings in the World Settings Tab and by changing the Quality Setting in the Build Dropdown.
