How do I remove the scene from The static mesh editor?

So I’m following a set of tutorials from udemy where I have to use the static mesh editor, however in the tutorial there is no background there is no scene it’s very nice and clean however in my instance there’s this image and floor and lighting and it’s all very distracting.

this is what the tutorial looks like

And this is what my view looks like

My biggest issue is the lighting effect on one side of my model. Is there a way to light the other side?

you can move around the scene in your static mesh editor, just use your direction keys and your mouse. You can also turn off the gridlines and change the background color (look at the toolbar across the top)
