How can I force particles to always face the same position instead of the camera position?

I’m making a sandstorm scene out of particles and right now I have directional light and particle screen alignment set to face the camera.

The problem is the lighting changes dramatically on some particles that go from being dark to extremely bright when they turn to face the camera and catch the directional light full on. I was thinking a solution might be to force the particles to always face a certain direction since I don’t intend on letting the player change position. Is there a way to do this or make the lighting look more natural?
