Hierarchical Instanced Static Mesh broken in Forward Rendering?

Recently I opting to Hierarchical Instanced Static Mesh (HISM) for making high-rise building, as it is more efficient than placing each floor manually. After migrating to 4.14, I’ve noticed that HISM has become translucent and weird overlapping shadows with Forward Rendering enabled. Is it known issue of not yet supported feature in forward rendering? For comparison, the tower next to it is placed static mesh.

Hi drpsyko,

This was caught on our Forums and will be resolved in 4.15. The post on the forums is for Foliage, but still uses the Hierarchical Instanced Static Meshes for that system as well.

Thanks for the help!

I’ve enabled Use as Occluder under Rendering (HISM) and it works!
