HDRI image vs HDRI cube map

Hi All,

I am trying to use an HDRI image, and I am having an issue.
I put the HDRIBackdrop to the outliner, and I downloaded an HDR image from HDRI heaven. But I cannot apply this image to HDRIBackdrop, because the image format is a texture, not a cube map. Does anyone know how I can use this image in HDRI Backdrop?

I just tried this and it worked fine. Which one is in the wrong format?

You cannot drag a texture hdri to this cubemap. What would be a solution for using a custom HDRI to a HDRI backdrop and illumination for your scene. Macbook Pro
Thanks

It has to be an HDR when you import it into UE. Then it will drag. Not just any picture, UE must see it as a cubemap.

The usual ‘gotcha’ is that it MUST be a .hdr
Exactly the same image, at the same resolution, with the same bit depth as a .exr will NOT work
HDRI haven has both, so it’s easy to grab the wrong one.

Also worth noting that 16000x8000px will work just fine. 16384x8192px will hard crash the engine.
