I have a problem, I’m trying to map a half-square texture (4096 x 2048) onto a full sphere for a star dome. Problem is when I do, it maps the half square over only half the sphere, leaving the rest black. I’ve been searching everywhere for a switch that will enable a stretch over the entire sphere, but no such luck. All you from UE4 land-- I humbly request your assistance!
UE4 does support non-square textures, but you do need to be sure that your object UV’s are mapped to the rectangle. This would be done at asset creation stage of the sphere in Maya/Blender etc.
Wow, thought it’d be stretched over it. That nails my question, thank you sir VERY MUCH.
