Grid Snap issues

I’m having an issue where walls and floors will only snap to 512 grids.

Props and other objects i can move normally along any grid.

Sometimes the walls/floors will even rotate when i try to move them on the grid.
I am trying to move the walls/floors along the 64 grid size and have tried others.
When i move the walls/floors they will only bounce to the nearest 512 grid area despite me having it locked in on any other grid size.

i would appreciate any help.

@XylophoneVulture Thank you for your report! Can you please re-post using the “New Issue” option on the Issues and Bug Reporting forums? Posts with this feature are connected directly into our development team so we can quickly get to them! For more information, such as how to get the reference ID, please check out the article here: https://create.fortnite.com/news/using-the-creative-and-uefn-bug-reporting-form

I think this is because they are set to corrospond to player builds, they work to 512 wide and 384 high segments. If you allow player building it is good idea to try to work within this.
But if not manually typing in the transform location in the Details Panel will override the 512 jumping.
Jot down a cheat sheet of distances required makes it quicker for references ie starting at 64, 576, 1088, 1600, 2112 etc etc.

Launching a session, some pieces will not be how you set them in editor, so you can take off the Mirrored setting in editor and use -1 scaling instead, or fiddle with them like this to get them correct, using the Details panel to set Position, Scale and Rotation.

Hello XylophoneVulture, Welcome to the Forums.

I’ve also seen objects rotating in unexpected ways when moving them around on the grid. (Incredibly frustrating when selecting multiple objects and having half of their rotations break when moving them)

Luckily, there is a way to disable this (underdeveloped?) Fortnite snapping system.

Set ‘Disable Editor Cell Snap’ in World Settings to ‘True’ when problems arise.

I’ve also found the ‘Mirrored’ setting on assets to sometimes be a quick fix.
