I am running UE4 on a macbook pro and every project I create has the same issue.
It looks like an issue you would get with a badly modelled imported fbx but this happens in every scene with the default layouts and assets that are built in.
It just constantly flashes and I have found no way to stop it.
My Settings are all set to epic if that helps.
Hi GusTTShowbiz,
What are your Mac’s specs and what OS are you running?
Thanks for the response .
I have found that if I switch to High End Mobile or Metal rendering then the problem disappears but so do the lighting effects.
I’m running on 10.12.3
2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 turbo boosts to 3+
8GB Ram
SSD
Intel Iris Graphics 540 1536MB
My Windows desktop has no issues and runs perfect.
Thanks
I have not been able to repro this on an older MacBook pro… Can you list some simple repro steps that cause on your machine using a Blank project template.
I made no changes to the project, It was the default settings on an untouched project.
Here is the empty project for comparison.
We currently have a bug report in for an issue that is producing the same type of artifacting: 41922. A couple of workarounds for this, until it is fixed, are to:
- Add a constant pixel depth offset to the applied material
- Deselect “use as occluder” in the static mesh details panel
Please try one or both of these workarounds and let me know if they work for you.
Thanks for the help.
Deselecting “use as occluder” worked great, it removed most of the artifacting,I still get it a little around the player actor but this has helped make it alot more usable.
Thank you
