I keep getting the [GPU Crashed or D3D Device Removed] error every 5 minutes or so and it crashing my system.
I have extended the tdr delay and tddidelay to 240.
I have a Ryzen 5 3600 (a Ryzen 9 5950X on the way) and a 10 gig RTX 3080.
I have done all the driver stuff, reinstalled windows, upgraded my ram, recreated my map in a brand new project, reinstalled unreal several times. I have spent 80% of my developing time on this problem…
I got a new cpu: Ryzen 9 5950X.
I changed drivers to non-studio and it seemed to work a lot better (only about one freeze per half hour now).
Just got this on my last freeze:
Still have the same problem. No fixes have worked. I am considering moving to unity at this stage and just remaking my game. I have now wasted 4 months on this project.
Happening a LOT with testing more Metahuman things today and yesterday, not sure why.
Only happened every now and then in 5.4.
No real indication of why.
Texture streaming has been on but not using it for anything in this new project.
5.5 metahuman might be doing something.
5.5 in general might be doing something.
I don’t use Nanite.
I do use Lumen.
5.5 metahuman doesn’t seem to use big textures so not sure if texture streaming would benefit that.
Turning off DX12 doesn’t seem like a solution.
Started after switching to a stronger PC with a Radeon gpu. Never happened with my old PC + Nvidia. But still feel Nvidia doesn’t have enough VRAM. But also, I often had Lumen off then.
Increasing quality from medium to high metahuman may be triggering it more?
Always used high in 5.4 project, wasn’t a problem.
