Hey guys,
I made a model in a program called Magica Voxel,
I then exported it as an .OBJ file and imported it into UE4 and it looked like this
As you can see the model has some really weird shadows on it! How can i fix these shadows! Thanks!

Ok I have now figured out that those glitchy shadows only seem to appear when I set the model as a skeletal meshâŚstill looking for some answers in the matter! Thanks!
well, iâm kinda sure that itâs not actually a glitch. Itâs just your model has smooth edges that affected the surfaces/polygons.
In that âMagica Voxelâ, itâs apparent that the model has hard/sharp edge, yes? I wish i know about the 3d program, but you have to find someway in that 3d program to export that object to obj/fbx and preserving the smooth/hard edges information.
Ok I figured out the issue! Thanks CodeHawX, you led me to the answer! This issue was with my normals! When I imported my skeletal mesh, in the import options I had to click on the box that says âNormal Input Methodâ and change it from âCompute Normalsâ to âImport Normals and Tangentsâ This completley resolved the problem! Hope this helps anyone else who runs into this!
